Let's give this another shot:

The huge problem is that “single payer” big-government socialized medicine is economically not feasible and would lead to shortages and rationing of medical services, which negatively affects people’s lives and well-being.

The US government already runs three “single payer” systems — Medicare, the Veterans Health Administration, and the Indian Health Service — each of which is a mess - noted for fraud, waste, and corruption. Why would we want to turn over all of American medicine to those who have already demonstrated themselves incompetent in running any part of a health care system?

Those who don't follow economics should understand that this nation is sitting on about $22 Trillion in actual debt, with another $200+ Trillion in unfunded liabilities – we’re flat busted and this “single payer” nightmare would bury us even deeper in debt, which would be an long-term disaster for all.

A far better, more workable and far cheaper alternative would be to reform the economics of the present system and unleash the power of free market competition, thereby driving down costs – that will be the solution.
