It’s Not Fear — Safety

Love the safety profile ...

Thank you.

But it’s more fear than safety. Yes, I’m a somewhat accomplished biologist, with significant, useful understandings of the unique Anavex science. It portends eventual clinical use and commercial sales of, first, Anavex 2-73; then, later, and probably even more significantly Anavex 3-71. Well and good. An astute investor in Anavex Life Sciences Crop might reap some rewards therefrom.

If....

If everything goes forward as presumed.

Again, I don’t have zillions of discretionary dollars to throw against the Anavex wall to see how many stick. Instead of taking a nice vacation for the last three years, I’ve elected to use the funds that would have supported those travels and have bought a moderate number of AVXLs. I’ve watched the stock market over the years, and have taken other small equity investment positions. With those, I’ve been pretty much break-even. Those investments have proven that I haven’t the means nor competence to be betting large sums on iffy stock price gains. So, yes, my approach with Anavex involves a degree of fear — to be safe.

I let the investment professionals handling my state-run teacher retirement fund make good investment decisions with the retirement dollars extracted from my former paychecks. Now retired (at least from formal teaching), I’m comfortable with my retirement payments. Rather safe, those are. Investing in start-up biotechs is never “safe.” But both the Anavex science (mechanisms of operation of the molecules, and drug safety profiles), and all of the existing safety and efficacy data from both animals and humans are, for me at least, extremely positive. I’m sleeping comfortably.

Yes, wish I had a few thousand more discretionary dollars to expand my AVXL position (especially at today’s depressed share prices). But all my working dollars are properly allocated to my household budget. That, too, remains “safe.”
