I try hard not to expect anything. It's difficult enough to react properly to what's already on the plate. I expect to be hauling firewood up to the barn for the rest of the afternoon and into the coming darkness. I expect to stack at least three loaders full in a horse stall -- the horse no longer there. But between me and the door lies the dog, Marco Polo, and being a wanderer he has other ideas.
