Yes, I think when MS was first introducing an upgrade to Win10 from earlier OS's they would use other peeps computers to update other peeps. I didn't upgrade, I simply bought a new computer with Win10 preinstalled, and immediately went through it and closed all the "holes" I was aware of (I'm sure there are more, LOL) to prevent things like that from happening. My Win10 cannot update itself without me being notified. I cut off Cortana. I don't allow anything to update automatically. Did a lot of other things in the beginning to tighten security as much as I could because I'd heard how intrusive Win10 can be.
