YB, Re: imagine 64P Opteron server packed into single 6U box. If each 2P blade is around 70W, then why not?

Sorry, but I can't imagine 2.2kW fitting into a 6U enclosure. The best I've been able to find is the density that HP has been able to achieve with ULV Pentium M blades. These 7W CPUs enable 20 UP blades in a 3U enclosure.

I don't think Pentium M is dual processor capable (pity), but a 25W UP blade ought to achieve some impressive density as well. It wouldn't be up to the density level of a ULV Pentium M, but I can see 12-16 UP blades in a 4U or 5U enclosure.

HP also manages to fit eight DP 3.06GHz Xeon 1M chips into a 6U enclosure, and these are 80+W parts. Those 30W Opteron parts could probably fit somewhere in between what you would expect from a Pentium M and Xeon blade system.
