One has to be very careful when making changes in management. Morning has already established their own work culture. How well does it mesh together with the S&L work culture? That is not something that can be figured out in just a few months.
As a case study: you might not be aware of this, but most of Nintendo’s best SNES games were made by a third party, called Rare. And even headed towards the N64, this studio made a lot of classics. They could even be called masterpieces. Well, this studio got bought by Microsoft. Obviously, Micr was hoping that this studio would make those awesome games for their own system, however for some reason or another, after Rare was bought by Microsoft, most of the talented team members left the studio. So Microsoft was left with the shell of a great studio. The games made by them now are no where near the and quality that made this studio so famous so many years ago.
What’s the point of this story? A game making company is only as good as the talent that makes the games. This holiday season should not be their goal. Next one, sure. By next year all kinks should have been worked out, and maybe even new talent can join the team by then.
