VASCEPA is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity (e.g., anaphylactic reaction) to VASCEPA or any of its components. In patients with hepatic impairment, alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) levels should be monitored periodically during therapy with VASCEPA.

So if you’re allergic to fish or have a bad liver it’s not for you otherwise take Vascepa or ba at risk for CVD. Actually I think there are other individuals who should not be on it like maybe people with afib.
