stupidity isn't what i would call current medical community..

"arrogant" at suffering and belligerent to progress..yeah..
they know dementia is a death sentence..but hey its not them..
and sure we know agonizing teh s1r is relatively safe, and no side effects is proof..but hey..we have METHODS! McM

I have 2 close family members diagnosed w/ early dementia. Understand your assessment-position. Status presents kind of dilemma to medical/pharma/biotec community and to regulators. There seems no sense of structure or real responsibility among them. Between the low life lawyers, insurance companies, street hedgers, competing BP along with who knows what else. Will any WW political figure get them all in a room and demand they act like adults? Often wonder just who is in charge and how are risks parsed or analyzed in that room. If one tries to do an RPN (risk probability number) exercise it indicates there should be no option to NOT ACT, since the CNS AD outcome is always fatal. So, in the pool of interests represented you might ask just who is responsible to treat the patients and how are they shielded from any risks associated with their actions? In this context it is not surprising to me that the Australian govt.is playing a leading role for AD treatment risk taking. A simple set of questions from this exercise(what could go wrong and if it did, then what would happen) seems appropriate-ala RPN. The longer we go with these simple questions being relegated to the (what appears to be the current players-process) the less likely we are to get an acceptable outcome. The process is not functional at this point, considering the target.

So, we see the incentive to move forward financially is with the Biotec/Pharma/Med PAC, the analysis and risk assessment process is with a combination regulatory/science/med technical people who seemingly never agree on anything, ever. In a jungle of guidance/regulatory/financial and political matrix where there is plenty of space/corners/dark places for anyone to hide while pretending to be serious. The process has so far percolated out some who will do/say anything for a buck but for the most part we have crickets. No wonder Dr. M.is staying off stage, letting the data speak.

We have so far w/A2-73 a scientific rational that is supportive with preliminary trails in humans data which so far presents no contradictions. IMO, if any of the trials now planned for A2-73 show promise and lacking any interim political motivations then, it is what it is. BTW, I am glad the Aussies have the ball b/c the RPN shows a political mess.
