There is some technical confusion/obfuscation operating here, so temper your conclusions. Looking at the other info posted on this topic, what Apple seems to be saying is not that it is dropping the TPM from the MacTel motherboards, but that the TPM 'will not be used'. Think about that... 'will not be used'. It suggests to me that the TPM will (continue to) be physically present, bur, for the time being, not used for anything. All bets are off IMO for what the situation will be at any future point in timee regarding Apple's use of the TPM. I suspect that this bit of intrigue is about forestalling free-lancers from experimenting with writing TPM-enabled code for the MacTel platform prior to Apple itself venturing in that direction. In other words, "Mr Singh, tear down your driver!".
