You had a 70% blockage and your doctor never ordered followup tests to see if it was getting better or worse?!? That's frigging malpractice - if you had a fatal MI your family could sue him for not following SOC.

EVAPORATE is looking at both reducing the progression of plaque and reducing/stabilizing existing lesions - it's a US version of the Japanese CHERRY study that showed EPA stabilized plaque:

As far as whether EPA can remove plaque, I see no MOA for that - what I think it does is shrink lesions - imagine an inflated balloon in an artery (swollen) - taking 4 g EPA/day over time lets air out of the balloon (less swollen) and opens up the artery, but the 2D area of the lesion doesn't really change, only the 3D area does.
