Always before. One was two weeks, and the other was five days prior. The reason being, people would buy the day they announce if they thought they would qualify. It also reduces the likely hood of insiders loading as well.

The best one I was in on was when USMJ spun off 1:100 PURA shares, which I still have. Now PURA has just announced they will do the same. The gift that just keeps giving

I think Metro is intentionally slow rolling news to frustrate and thin the heard. I wouldn't be surprised if they wernt buying shares back as well.
