Basically they draw only about 40 ml of blood (~1.5 shot glasses) and collect the patient's T-cells. Then they incubate the T-cells with tumor antigens, cytokines and "antigen presenting cells" to initiate an immune response in culture - but unlike CAR-T there is no genetic modification of T-cells. Then the cells are infused back into the patient to fight the cancer.
