Prevention of Alzheimer’s by Earliest Administration

That [testing] would enable very early diagnosis and allow for 2-73 treatment which could delay onset of clinical symptoms for many years if it doesn't outright stop further progression.

One big thing yet to be determined: does the earliest, prodromal (before symptoms) administration of Anavex 2-73 prevent both the onset and the progression of Alzheimer’s symptoms?

To accurately test this, accurate determination of an Alzheimer’s future for an asymptomatic patient must be made. Now, that may be possible.

Correlation of early treatment and symptomatic suppression will be an extremely important finding in the upcoming clinical study. There is already evidence to suggest that the earlier the drug is administered, the more effective it is in slowing and minimizing Alzheimer’s symptoms. It is not unreasonable, then, to think that extrapolating these observations to heretofore untested prodromal stages the drug might actually prevent symptomatic onset, at least for some good period (if not permanently).
