Yea, that makes complete sense, why hasn't Birkshire dumped Buffet yet and replaced him with a middle aged white man. They are the best at everything...agism, racism, even serial killings and mass shootings.

It is well established that by 50 the human brain is on its decline in terms of innovations and peaks in the early to mid-20s. It doesn't matter if a person is in their 80s what is important is peak intelligence and whether they are suffering any dementia. Barring that an intelligent, innovative individual in their 80s will be more effective than an average guy in their 50s. The equivalent of a young Quentin is not going to be interested in CoolTech....yet. Best they could do is get a so-so person who 'needs' the job. We are much better off with Quentin who is doing it because he believes in the company and wants to contribute not because he needs the job. He also has been very accommodating with when and how (frequently shares versus cash) with respect to his salary unlike the previous president who bled the company down.
