November’s First Trading Day: NASDAQ Is Best

Based upon data in the soon to be available Stock Trader’s Almanac for 2019 on page 86, the first trading day of November is the fifth weakest of all monthly first trading days since September 1997 based upon total DJIA point gained. DJIA and S&P 500 have been up 12 of the last 21 years on the first trading day of November. NASDAQ has the best record, up 13 times with an average gain of 0.31%.
