I seem to recall that someone found a group or two that had approved the prescription of Actipatch. I'm not sure, it was around 6 weeks ago when we went through all this the first time.
Why some would approve and not others? Different doctors, different philosophies, different constituencies, your guess is as good as mine.
Keep in mind, the majority of the sites that I looked at simply had no information. It seems that they haven't been petitioned to add actipatch as a new medicine, or they haven't gotten around to reviewing the application.
What we all missed, (including BIEL), is that being listed on the tariff by NHS means very little in a practical sense. Requests to include it in the formulary at the local level need to be made, reviews conducted etc.
This is not unlike FDA clearance in a sense, getting clearance for foot and knees didn't equal sales by itself, and neither will musculoskeletal.
