Sorry you got wiped out with options, but it takes a strong person to admit their mistakes in a public forum like you did, so kudos for the honesty. Your story is unfortunately the normal outcome for retail options players - they lose every penny about 90% of the time, one reason I've never gone near them and likely never will - excluding selling CC's on stocks I own - but even there I've never pulled the trigger because I don't want to lose the underlying stock if I got called - like some folks who sold CC's in AMRN for a $10 strike who are now pulling their hair out. Stuff I wouldn't mind losing shares in don't have enough premium to make it worth the effort, so I can safely say I'll probably die w/o ever using options, too risk averse.
