so, yeah. if anyone wants a great book to read, i suggest "Into the Raging Sea" by Rachel Slade. it tells the story of the 'El Faro', an American Flag containership that sank in 2015 killing 33 American and Polish nationals. truly a fascinating story on the all fronts. the book also goes into detail on the state of the current U.S Merchant Marine and how they are losing a cabotage battle (just as the Canadian Merchant Marine has already lost) and how this contributes to the decline in seaworthiness due to high operating costs. further, the book goes into the personal lives of the mariners who died that day and strengthens the basic human sense that everyone should be remembered. can you name one soul that was lost 10/01/2015? didn't think so. anyway, great book. go delta 9.
