The circumstances are not the same.

Sept 2018, > 18% of the float was sold short.

Today, it's near or under 10%. That's a reduction by half.

Options activity also show far more bullish calls than puts.

The market is optimistic about this stock, unlike in Sept 2018. There just aren't as many buyers - in effect the mood is "Prove It" not "Betting on Zero".

There could be a small pop but there won't be massive short covering like there was in Sept on results announcement.
