barge, thanks for the great eetimesUk find (and thanks vacationhouse), which turned out to be highly germane to our current discussion!

I neglected to mention in my comments about TPMs and LaGrande/Longhorn, that LaGrande/Longhorn will help drive the secure/trusted computing iniative. Clearly this is the case, but I do think we will see some promising initial deployment with the 1.1 version TPMs...of course the TCG is counting on that.

The eetimesUK article suggests that huge deployment will not happen until 1.2 TPM, which is likely true but I think Wave can still get some pretty decent business out of the 1.1s.
