Good Morning... I have just activated "windows subsystem for linux"
and installed "Ubuntu" from Microsoft store.

But quite honestly I do not know what i'm doing... just hoping to acquaint myself with this open source software.

And my concern/question is this: Can I mess up the normal everyday working of windows 10 by typing in commands if I have no idea of what I'm getting into?

Thanks for responding... no rush though. I AINT doin nuttin till
I get some smarts.

Another avenue possible: am wondering if would be better to create a virtual machine (I believe windows 10 provides for such) and install ubuntu on it , then work from there.

Another thought: I have an older spare laptop with windows 10.
Maybe would be better to purchase ubuntu software and install it on the spare laptop.
