I certainly would expect an interim analysis. When you have any trial you want to check on safety at an early point. If the drug is deemed to be unsafe the trial is ended! However if the drug is safe, with powerful efficacy, you want the placebo arm to get that drug...it is unethical to withhold it! Trials can be, and have been, ended early because of success! It is my opinion that the Alzheimer trial could be ended early due to success! And the precision medicine approach makes this all the more likely IMO!
