Fact is, their current model works. If they want to change their model, they have to be incredibly careful in how they do so, because it could ruin their business.

Are there ways they can make extra money without alienating their customers? That is very likely. The challenge would be how to do so without damaging their existing business.

I agree that management should look into ways to make more money. But I would expect them to be very careful in how they approach it.
