You are 100% correct. MR Musk at Tesla will tell you they have a super charging system that only takes half the time. An engineer I know says that system shortens the battery life by 40%. The battery systems on the class 8's sell for as much as 100k. That should tell everyone all they need to know about the electric class 8 highway tractor.

NatGas is the answer. Near zero emissions, no power loss, cost of operation near diesel, less in many cases.
