The harshness of this is very troublesome.

Doesn’t the FDA have some responsibility to the thousands of trial subjects who show up hoping for something better than horrible side effects?

Sad to say harsh words are appropriate at times like these. We have people who will protest at the drop of a hat in the U.S. even while their older family members are being mistreated. We have TV commercials showing dogs/cats/orphan animals as a form of protest and looking for contributions. The French and British govt. have stopped paying for ineffective medicine being given to U.S. AD patients daily. How can both systems be right? Are not these positions exclusive, if we have any (excuse the expression) medical science. The U.S. has always done it's best work when everyone is pissed off.

When we finally wake up and look back some will say why/how did we let this happen. We have allowed ourselves to not question authority for such practices. We are a pathetic lot and seemingly deserve what we have, UNLESS...we stop it.

We will know we are heading down a different-right path when trials are started w/o unneeded Placebos.

Our problems are not going to fix themselves and our politicians get wealthy as we do nothing to help those who cannot act and who depend on us. We are way overdue. End of rant.
