I posted several case studies of cracked ceramic liners and ZTA CoC was actually more toxic locally than MoM according to one study. I'm not sure CoC is the solution; Si3N4 CoC has squeaking issues from what ive heard. However Si3N4/Poly seems to be the best paring as Si3N4 can extend the life of the poly liner and reduce wear particle release. That seems like the best solution going forward.

That case study with the patient that died, thats an interesting scenario indicating that dangers of ceramic particles interacting with metal surfaces causing increased release of wear particles. This is something that shouldnt occur with Si3N4 as the body can both break it down and evacuate it.
