If Sini had a discrepancy on phase stability and actually fractured in vivo, you would be looking at removing all fragments of a very hard material upon revision...to chrome cobalt? Now that's an interesting experiment. Load up you tester with a chrome cobalt hip SiNi plated and fill the wear surface with Biolox delta fragments and let her go to town until you achieve wear through. Continue until you figure out how thick of a Coating you need to fully mitigate wear through potential. Then you can bring Metal on Metal hips back to market.
