The reason there is a natural gas pipeline from Victoria to Tasmania is because Victoria has gas but Tasmania doesn't. For Foster to explain it is why Alpha is involved with Mal's merry games shows how ignorant of oil exploration he must be. Any serious and capable investor is interested in an oil explorer's prospects for finding commercial petroleum and not some other party's infrastructure.

I suggest reading the two independent consultants reports on the abysmally low probability of finding commercial petroleum on Mal's wallaby pasture. That is assuming there is funding and an exploration licence to drill on in the first place. Recent comers to the EEGC fun and games show can be excused for being rather out of their depth but there are some who know in detail what this is about having followed the charade for decades.

No major or even intermediate level oil company has ever expressed any interest in Mal's great vision. The ground has just stood vacant for almost three years because there is zero real interest in it.

It's a time honoured practice of Mal and his crew to play around putting billions of dollars valuations on huge undiscovered oil/gas deposits while carefully concealing the extremely small chance of them ever being disovered.
