Cash2go,

Biotech Seminars are held all over the world with companies presenting their studies and active ongoing research programs. One of the main reasons they do this is to inform their investors ( mostly investment firms , mutual funds etc. ) of what's going on. A Doctor friend of mine attends these seminars for a mutual fund company and reports his findings to them for investment purposes.

You mentioned DNDN and that company was just involved in a seminar I believe in the UK last week. These meetings cause reports to pop up in the media so it's not a case of pump and dump but information arising from the meetings. When the analysts and large investment companies get this info they have to publicly announce it as well.
Many biotechs will wait forever for the ultimate payoff and never get it and just how do they survive? By placing stock (selling it) with investors since they have no other source of revenue at the present.
So basically I think you are way off if you think these are pump and dump companies. Good luck with your short.
