Short positions are the most easily manipulated positions. Starting to see Zeevs logic.

Current short DNDN. 3-4 days known of short interest. Announces stock gift (free)for execs and days later releases news of a second submission of failed drug for less advanced cases of the prostate cancer. Stock moves up from 5 to 9. Next they release preclinical data on an experimental compound the press grabs it (preclinical now excies investors again) and it somewhat keeps value up to 8.75.

Question is this a pump and dump pattern. Looks like a quickie with any true payoff years down the road. Debt and finances seem OK. How long before such moves die and I would think quickly fall back. I thought the preclincal info was obvious pie in the sky in hope of selling more stock up here. Still is it somewhat safe to ride to 6's.

The company filed early in the year to sell shares to during the year to raise money for future use. Can I find out how many company shares were sold? The gifting of stock got the SEC notice and later in week the company said it had set restrictions of this stock. Not clear if they added restrictions later after SEC comments and recognition

The reaction to resubmitting a not so effective drug seemed over done, the timing of gift stock just before seemed questionable. The new on a Preclinical drug was well timed to keep the price up at an opurtune time. Large short positions can be used to a companies advantage. Looks like this one could be quick reversal.

Went short Friday even though I agree that short have a life of their on and can be hard on the short side and the market trend is not currently the short's friend. Manipulation maybe?
