So I emailed my friend in the travel business. And told her these were tentative plans. I counted around 88 people between StockTwits and iHub that have been the 'long term' posters and investors. If you include spouses going, it makes almost 180 people IF everyone goes. We can't stop anyone else from going, but we can make (if we're interested in having one) the dinner banquet (get together)by invitation only. So we know who is going and how much it will cost per person. I figure 100 people may attend (including spouses) out of the 180 or so.
Date: I mentioned the weekend of Valentine's Day in my last post. That should give everyone plenty of time to plan ahead. If this doesn't work for most, we need to know asap so another date can be picked. V Day is on a Thursday...so people can travel either Wednesday or Thursday...depending on when they want to get there. Leaving on Sunday. YOU CAN COME AND GO ANYTIME YOU WANT, JUST PUTTING THIS OUT THERE FOR PLANNING. I asked her to let me know if she could get a better deal if everyone going booked through her. OF COURSE EVERYONE WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT HER AGENCY AND MAKE THEIR OWN ARRANGEMENTS.
Hotel: I haven't stayed at the Venetian...but it looks like they have some awesome rooms. If someone else has a better idea, we need to know.
Friday the 15th: If we choose V Day to be the weekend this happens. I thought it would be cool if we could rent a Ballroom at the hotel and maybe have a dinner and a dance. Say from 7:pm to midnight. Don't know what that would cost, but I'll check if we have enough interested. I also have a friend that lives in St. George, Utah (2 hour drive from Vegas) that has a DJ business. I'd ask him what he would charge if we go this route.
This is mostly everything that we will need to know so we can firm plans. I asked my travel agent friend to give us a deadline of when we need to firm up numbers...so I'll let you know when I know.
I haven't contributed much to this board as far as the stock is concerned (actually none)...so I thought I could try and take this by the horns and run with it as my contribution.
I want to make clear that these are the main people that I'm going to try and plan this around. So it's mainly up to these people's schedule when we go.
If there isn't very much interest here in the next week or so...I just can the project.
