Agree w/your reaction. I have a family member w/MS. She deserves some treatment that is safe and REALLY effective. Yes, I understand BIIB makes massive amounts money on MS drugs. As you say, who is helping here? Are MS patients supposed to expect the BIIB people to evaluate a treatment that will potentially undercut 70% of BIIB gross rev? Not gonna happen. I guess the FDA sees itself as a cop and not a leader. Dr.M. and staff have their work cut out.

If your family really wants to get this type of treatment she can start it tomorrow by using cough syrup with DM...I don't recommend it though.

If she can't be convinced to skip this application of early in vitro work to a clinical use (just a generally really bad idea) then at least coordinate it with her MS doctor (who will in all likelihood convince her not to do it or refuse to participate). If somehow she comes past those roadblocks determined to proceed AND her doc agrees to proceed he could put her on safe and available medications to achieve these goals...Nuedexta, donepezil, Luvox, and Acthar would be candidates. Of those donepezil would be the economical choice.
