The reason I gave you the larger number is because I always think in terms of a 1X investment. I only trade 3x funds to conserve capital and to let me investest over 100% level without using margin.

So if I invest 100% of my capital in TQQQ, I know I am invested at 300%. In the case we talked about, yes you are right if I buy 10K shares that is only $676K, but it is no different than buying $2M of QQQ. You are leveraged 300%.
