They were bankrupt in 2009 but were rescued by a very poor management decision by Bank of America. I was a long time Bank of America client but did not want to be associated with a firm of such low repute given the fact that they were liars and pumpers of the NASDAQ bubble. That’s when my brokerage statement turn from Bank of America to Merrill Lynch I went to swab and never looked back and it probably saved $100,000 in commissions. I kind of miss the BS sessions with my broker but most of the Schwab guys are pretty good to
