I wonder how WMI liquidates because it does not have the assets but only beneficial interests? How can you sell an interest?

Let say that JPM bought WAMU assets (WMB).

Now WMI has to create a new DST and sell it to another company that takes the role of WMI?

I hate to say the following but it sounds like S4V :)

Can the new WMI be KKR and COOP is its servicer like WMB?


I have another question.

OK, the BK is now 10 years old and most mortgage loans would be paid off or refinanced. We keep saying that we will sell mortgages but as time goes, mortgage loans will be less valuable. So what do we sell?
