Yes it is absurd. But surely you're not holding up life for this one. =)

Even if Dahl were to announce a major breakthrough and partnership/license deal of some sort ... the corporate structure is so watered down at this point

Buyout is the likely exit strategy. Mgmt has zero skillset to develop this company into a multilicense entity. Doing so would be several more years of pain.
