SEC allows for a certain amount of naked selling in order to help make the market on thinly traded stocks. Depending on how the MM books these naked sells they can sit on them for a very long time. To get the full scoop call and talk to the TA. All I can tell you is MMs are seldom worried about being caught with a bunch of naked sells.
