How many products should they launch at once? They are launching 20 SKUs for Christmas. If you do too much at once you will fail. If you do one thing and put all your energy into that one product line you will be successful.
I spoke with CEO sometime back and he said almost that same thing to me. They are launching one product line at a time but he made a really good point, he said every time they do a product they have to have raw materials supply chain in place which takes money; they have to have packaging designed and supply chain for that in place, which takes money; they have to hire folks to design, package, ship and provide customer support-which takes money; they have to quality test, which takes money and they have to have the infrastructure such as space, which you guess it takes money! At some point you run out of money. He said you build one layer or product line at a time and you will be successful but if you try to do too much you will fail. Take Apple for example, with over $200 BILLION in the bank and they launch a dozen or so new products a year with various SKU's and they have been around for 40 years with over a billion products in the market. UAT is 6 years old with building capital and a few thousand products in the market. They just started!
You have to admit the man has a point. At least it made sense to me and gave me some perspective.
I wouldnt worry too much about the fixator Ski because he has said repeatedly its coming and they are doing biotechnology department first. Maybe you should call him and get all of us an update?
