If you see all the AH buys there was short covering too. Index Funds know there is no leverage in borrowed shares. Buyers hold leverage with real cash. Trading at 52 week lows has an tendency to attract cash, well, more longs and our/my friends the scalp traders.
Careful reading of today's Operational Up-date of ongoing well testing results and implied field development will attract Oil Investors,,, this is what they were looking for.
