Durable is overrated, he has never hit more than 25 homers in his career and that is worth a 8 year deal at almost 20 million a year. No thanks. I never wanted him, that would of been a horrific deal.
This is a team that should of had cespedes or bruce playing 1b in spring. we knew nimmo deserved playing time. but that was their decision making we had a surplus of OF before the injuries. Heck they even wanted to give lageres playing time. They just weren't smart enough to move one of those guy to 1b this year during the spring. That was the problem and bringing in agon.
as for bringing in bautista they need a live body at that point. Bruce was down, ces was down, frazier was down, lageres was down, and they had no farm system to replace these guys. That was a SA signing all the way simple answer of I need a body. I actually don't blame him on that too be honest. I blame him on the fact that his minors are so baron he had nobody that could remotely fill the position.
