The pain, the horror that will befall Red Nex nation if they don't win at least the pennant! The 116 game season the Mariners had.... I'm sure they would have gladly traded 10 of those wins for a World Series appearance.

Gone are the days when the true grit and glory in baseball was determined over the course of 162 (or 154) games.

In this day and age of statistics and algorithms, baseball should seriously consider churning the regular season stats into a formula which can reward the best teams in their respective leagues with more than simply home field advantage.
