oh... the travails of the MM....remember, that there are millions of investors worldwide who play the stock market each day, and only a limited number of shares that a MM can fill if the volumes start to rise on the buy side... so what to do?...remember by franchise, the MM must fill the buy orders at the ask price as posted, so he sells stock he does not have at the lowest ask price (short to fill the order).. he then drops the bid price to stop any rally to the upside with a 100 share sell (have you been noticing)... the MM will NEVER instigate an upside rally if they are short... at present over 6 million are short.. why? simply because they would have to fill orders at a higher level, with stock they haven't got... they would be killed if they raised the bid...because no retail holder would sell his stock in a rising market...so, whats my point?... look for a huge rally when the MM have satisfied their short positions, and are long stock in their portfolios... they will only sell stock when they can make money selling to retail....
