It is a basic management task....

No, it is not. It is an IT task. If NWBO had its management, who AFAIK have no IT training or experience, managing its website or paying to host it on premises, everyone here would be screaming about how inept they are for spending time and resources on something they should outsource.

To keep a website up... especially when there is only one or two updates A YEAR!!!

This is precisely why they should not be wasting a lot of time and resources on something that is not business/mission critical. If a site like Amazon goes down it is critical because their business relies on sales through their website. If Google goes down it is critical because their website is pretty much their entire business. If a financial institution's website goes down, it is critical because it it their customers' primary interface with them. No one NEEDs the NWBO website to be up. They are not losing customers because customers can't access what is essentially a static set of pages that can be referenced via WayBack, etc.

If you think the website doesn't matter, then I guess paying the phone bill or the electric payment doesn't either.

This argument is too stupid to even reply to.

Of course for all we know Linda and Les are sitting there in their offices in the dark unable to call out to their IT people because they forgot to pay those bills too.

This kind of drivel is precisely why there is no sense communicating with people who will twist everything to fit into some insane conspiracy theory that they have concocted.

If anyone thinks in today's day and age that a website is meaningless you are wearing rose colored glasses. My dog has her own website. Geez. A leading bio-tech can't keep there's up?

If anyone in today's day and age makes investment decisions based on a website, they are wearing blinders. NWBO is NOT a 'leading bio-tech" they are a barely-funded startup with no current products or revenue. They have no control over outages at their hosting company. So let me ask you a hypothetical and see if you can figure out its relevance. Do you pay for mirrors, live-backups, and redundant servers for your dog's website? Or would that be a waste of money because your dog's website is purely informational and does not generate revenue or customers and if it goes down for a while people can access an archived copy of it?

This management is inept and should be replaced. The sooner the better.

And of course the obligatory 'management is incompetent' finish. Am I a god? How am I so prescient that I can know how each of these ridiculous comments will end?
