Alright then..... 11:00 it is. I've been pretty busy like everyone else in the real world. Have a heap-load of penny junior miners in a portfolio just waiting out the corrupt dollar-propping/gold-slamming good ol boys who sell paper gold to support their cigar habits. Gold will run Tibs. Hopefully in September.........yet in the big picture, clinging to outcomes is never in the best interest of one's soul. Time is an abstraction, but it allows karma to perform its job. We all die soon and six billion years from now my descendants will hardly remember me.
I check in here every month or so. Regardless of how Jorge and Brent make out (obviously would love to see them prevail) I'm totally convinced that Barrick will go down in flames in what will be the biggest financial fraud since Lehman Brothers.......who had $600 billion in assets once. Enron.....massive accounting fraud. Cendant had a decade long accounting fraud going on. Fannie Mae, Tyco, Madoff, and WorldCom.
Too big and too connected to go down? Uh......no.
In 2002 WorldCom caused one of the largest fraud and bankruptcy scandals in American and global corporate history with more than $11 billion worth of fraudulent accounting entries and misstatements. The WorldCom fraudsters were sentenced and former CEO Bernie Ebbers was given 25 years in prison. The company was NOT too big to go down in flames. Neither is Barrick. Just as a movie was made about Bre-X, there will be film on Barrick. AND THAT WILL BE DUE TO JORGE AND BRENT.
The shitake mushrooms will hit the proverbial fan. The boys in high places in Canada were digging their their own graves, but they probably weren't aware of it until recently. Just my opinion of course but I believe they picked on the wrong guy.
