I thought we had just got through going over all this again

If you have a sealed tube appx. 16,000 feet high and fill it with water, then the pressure at the bottom will be appx. 7,500 psi.

If the TUBE is not sealed at the bottom like a test tube, then the liquid is free to flow out the bottom at 7,500 unless something is pushing back.

When I did the math using sea-water using slightly more precise numbers than the rough ones above, it appeared to have a differential of 200psi or so in favor of pushing up. Sealed tubes do not push up, they are the baseline, the basis, for the math.

For the math to allow for a

the math still allows for a 7,500 psi. downhole pressure with a 0 (zero) formation pressure.

then the drilling mud would have to weigh less than sea water.
