I agree with your definition (as does the IRS), since hoding a security longer than a year places your gains (assuming you have gains) into the long term gains category, which is a more favorable tax rate. My being a 3 year holder of this stock officially places me in the insane category. I would have been better off putting imy money under a mattress.
