Read "Twilight in the Desert" about Saudi Arabia's oil. Very insightful. Seems 90% of their oil is from just a few "super giant" fields that are exceptional to nature and located in a very centralized area. These wells extract their oil mostly by injecting water underneath to lift the oil to their wellheads. It has been taking more and more water injection operations to keep the pressure maintained... Seems to me if the pressurized water pocket underneath the oil experienced a major seismic event and lost pressure, it would be literally be game over for Saudi Arabia.
