No. Stock promoters like Research Driven Investors do not feature companies for free.

These types of stock promotion schemes (RDI claims to be a "newsletter", not a research firm despite the name) can be very effective with retail investors. This is why there is a virtual epidemic of these phony baloney "research reports" that are dressed up to look like real analyst reports. There are lots of investors who read these things uncritically and don't realize that these "research reports" are not what they appear to be. Also, investors rarely read the disclaimers.

I can't prove Anavex paid directly for this report (it's possible their IR firm or another third party paid on Anavex's behalf) but here's the disclaimer from the Anavex "research report" itself (bold is mine): "RDI receives compensation from third party organizations for advertising services provided in the form of email newsletters. RDI and its affiliates, officers, directors and agents have been compensated for featured company coverage and therefore information should not be construed as unbiased."

I'll be shot down for having the gall to express my doubts and concerns. But for those who imagine a Wall Street cabal out to defeat poor little Anavex for not playing their game, here's an example of a real cabal looking to boost the stock artificially at investors' expense.
