Ballistic protection and vest are not interchangeable. A vest is ballistic protection but ballistic protection does not mean a vest.
The 2 inch armor on a tank is also ballistic protection.

tents, underwear can also be ballistic protection.

I am not saying they wont be using it in vests ever. I think the flex will require it to be a blended weave. That will take many different tests. many prototypes and may never improve the vest even after years of testing.

But it can replace the cotton underwear and be a vast improvement in ballistic protection in any weave pattern they want.
Same goes with tents and uniforms.

Why focus on vests when any use is years and years away when you can sell many millions of pairs of underwear immediately?
