I dont know if I buy his premise that Arris product is going the way of obsolescence. He opines that wireless transmission eliminates the need for wired. My cable modem (Arris) doesnt run wired cable, it is connected to my router, which allows wireless signals in my house. From what I see, internet is still, and will for a long time, be delivered by either cable or DSL to homes. That will require a modem. Only way around that is some type of all surround wireless internet, which at least in my area, doesnt exist.
